About Mr. Kryszak
Background
I was born in Connecticut, but have also lived in Rhode Island, North Carolina, and now Texas! I grew up competing in horse shows up and down the East Coast. My love of horses led me to NC for college. I did my undergraduate studies at St. Andrews University in Laurinburg, NC where I majored in Elementary Education and minored in Therapuetic Horsemanship. I graduated in 2009 and began teaching in Scotland County, NC. My family has moved back to Connecticut. I miss my Mom, Step-Dad, Sister, and Brother in Law a lot, but I miss my niece and nephew the most. I love to travel, experience new cultures, read, listen to music, and most of all be around horses.
Teaching Experience
I taught for five years in Scotland County, NC and had the chance to teach almost all the elementary grades. I started out teaching 4th grade ELA and Social Studies for three years and then was asked to create a self-contained classroom for Kinders through 5th graders with emotional and behavioral problems. After teaching in that setting for a year I decided that 5th grade was the place to be. I taught for 5th for one year in NC before venturing here to Central Texas and 2016/2017 will be my 3rd year teaching 5th at DSE!
Mr. K's Favorite Things:
Diet Coke, Seltzer Waters, Peanut Butter Cups, and Diet Cranberry Limeaids
